Inspired by my Art teacher, I completed a few paintings as a teenager, but did little painting until 2000. At that time I started entering the Ipswich Show and was regularly winning prizes. In 2012 I did a Tricia Reust workshop with the Ipswich Art Society, which started my exciting journey into pastels. I joined the PSA and met many Master Pastellist friends and learnt from them. In 2021 with the encouragement of my mentor Margaret Turner, I achieved ‘Accomplished Pastellist’ status with the PSA. Sales are now more frequent, including at the Ekka. I enjoy painting in a number of genres, all that is bright and beautiful: landscape, seascapes, portraits, figures in the landscape, flora and the occasional still life and abstract/contemporary.
