ABOUT THE ARTIST
My enjoyment of art started from an early age in Malaysia and I was drawn to drawing and painting nature. What started as a hobby turned into a passion for impressionist contemporary art in my later years.
My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature in my local environment and from my travels. Pastel is my favourite medium to explore nature and capture the essence of a subject. Its textural qualities can lead to bold and expressive works that at the same time are soft and atmospheric.
Abstract patterns underlie paintings of landscapes, seascapes and other natural scenes. The attraction of the spontaneous dance of light and movement of water defines my subjects. At their best, my paintings hope to bring joy to the viewer and an emotional response to the natural world.
