ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dawn Head Rose is a rural based artist who works primarily in traditional realism. Self-taught, her journey spans two decades.
She prefers a close encounter with her chosen subject to establish a sense of immediacy. Her aim is to have the viewer feel as if they were right there in the painting.
When shape and light come into play with her subject, the dynamic results can be very satisfying to Dawn.
She uses many layers to build tone in her colours, with line and texture also becoming integral to the composition.
Dawn is passionate about her art and though she has taken classes given by many prominent tutors, she believes in honouring her own unique style.
